RETRO GREENING 406 COLLINS STREET

Imagine an old office building in the heart of Melbourne’s Collins Street, equipped with old and outdated air conditioning and lighting systems. Imagine this building has no form of energy management system. Imagine how inefficient that building will be.

The waste of money and energy in that building is substantial. Apart from sustainability – an upgrade to the building is an A grade investment opportunity.

Then add some other elements - better performance, happier tenants, reduced greenhouse emissions, increased NABERS star rating.

The federal government now comes along and helps the upgrade by making a contribution to the upgrade costs – the project is now irresistable.

That building is 406 COLLINS STREET.

406 Collins Street is being upgraded to a minimum of 4.5 stars NABERS. This work is being undertaken over the next 2 years in association with:

  • RC Lister & Associates
  • The Green Building Fund
  • Energy Conservation Systems (ECS)
  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
  • Colliers International
